From offering a few courses like the ever-popular Git, Drupal Site Builders and PostgreSQL Admin, we have expanded our course range and now have over 30 courses we can offer including, Web Accessibility, Docker, Puppet, Python and Agile courses, many from introduction through to advanced level. This training will encourage people to use open source software (if not already doing so) and one by one the transformation from proprietary software to open source software takes place. Great result!
Our training facilities
It was quickly noted that the success of the Wellington-based courses could be expanded on, and so we opened up training facilities in both our Auckland and Christchurch offices, along with our Catalyst Australia offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
Our training courses
Our courses appeal to a wide range of people and are open to anyone. We get a range of participants including individuals wanting to upskill, students needing another technology, and other IT companies wanting to increase their staff knowledge. We also ensure that our courses are available to Catalyst staff because to upskill our own employees is crucial to the success of our business.
Our trainers
At Catalyst, we do not have full-time trainers – instead, our trainers work with the products they teach on a regular basis in real situations. They come equipped with real-life examples and knowledge that only actual users would have. Their enthusiasm for anything 'open source' shines through in the way they teach. They are not only extremely knowledgeable, but they are passionate and inspiring; a strength held by all of the best teachers.
Class sizes
The class sizes are limited which ensures there is time for questions and learning to take place. There is ample time to learn about the software and to use it in a test capacity. We can also offer tailored client specific courses, great if you have a team you want trained all in one go.
Our two day Agile Primer courses have recently become certified by the International Consortium for Agile (ICAgile) and attendees will receive the International Consortium for Agile Certified Professional certification (ICAgile ICP).
